Window Sampling Boreholes

This system uses compact track-mounted light percussion drilling rigs, which are suitable for sites with restricted access.

The rig can bore to depths of up to 6m in superficial deposits and allows continuous undisturbed samples to be recovered in PVC core liners. SPT tests can also be completed at regular depths.

Boreholes can also be extended by use of follow-on dynamic probing to depths exceeding 15m in suitable ground conditions.  

The drilling method is best suited to investigations for residential or commercial buildings, and contaminated land surveys. Boreholes can be installed with standpipes to enable follow-on gas monitoring and groundwater sampling.
