Groundwater Monitoring & Sampling

Groundwater sampling represents a critical element of a Phase 2 (GQRA) contaminated land investigation, where the groundwater chemistry may have been impacted by the historical land use of the site. To quantify potential risk, groundwater samples are recovered using either disposable sterile bailers, borehole pumps or low-flow sampling methods, and dispatched to a UKAS-accredited laboratory for testing of potential contaminants, after which results would be screened against generic assessment criteria to determine the requirements for any necessary remedial action.
