Slope Stability Assessments
The effects of climate change have resulted in an increased incidence of slope failures on cuttings and embankments, where landslides are typically triggered by prolonged or heavy rainfall events.
To assess the potential risks to infrastructure or property Ground Check can undertake a geomorphological survey of a slope to identify salient features, which may be a precursor to instability. Following this, a slope stability model can be developed to examine the factor of safety of the slope based on total (undrained) and effective stress (drained) conditions, to inform the design of remedial slope stabilisation and drainage measures.
